30 years of geophysics research. One developer. A platform built from real field experience.
PQRS Workbench is the product of over 30 years of hands-on geophysics research and software development. Every line of code has been written by a single developer who spent decades working on real seismic projects — from data processing to method research, from inversion algorithms to geomechanical modeling.
The journey began at Daqing Oilfield, where the foundation was laid in seismic data processing and method research. Over the years, the toolbox grew — one module at a time, each one born from a real project need rather than a marketing requirement.
What makes PQRS different is that it wasn't designed by committee or built by a large team. It grew organically from field experience. Every module has been tested on real data, every parameter has been tuned by someone who understands the geology behind the numbers.
Today, PQRS Workbench is deployed at major Chinese national oil companies, including CNPC and CNOOC. But the philosophy hasn't changed — build tools that actually solve problems, keep them lightweight and fast, and never stop improving.
Every module exists because it solves a real problem. We don't add features for marketing — we build tools that engineers actually use in their daily work.
Algorithms are based on published geophysics research and validated with real data. We believe in transparent methods and reproducible results.
When you need help, you talk directly to the developer — not a support ticket system. No layers, no handoffs, just real technical expertise.
Three decades of method research, gradually woven into one platform.
Began research in seismic data processing and inversion methods at Daqing Oilfield. Developed early processing tools and AVO analysis algorithms for practical field applications.
Added rock physics modeling, pre-stack inversion methods, and visualization tools. Each module was developed to support specific project needs — from exploration to reservoir characterization.
Extended into geomechanical modeling, pore pressure prediction, and wellbore stability analysis — bridging the gap between seismic interpretation and drilling engineering decisions.
Initial attempt to organize the growing collection of tools into a unified platform. Early efforts with a small team helped identify what worked — and what needed to be rebuilt from scratch.
Added SVM machine learning modules for well-seismic integration, and OVT wide-azimuth fracture characterization for unconventional reservoir development.
The platform reached maturity with 32+ fully integrated modules. Deployed at over 10 enterprise sites across CNPC and CNOOC. Now expanding to international markets.
PQRS Workbench is used by exploration, development, and research teams across China's energy industry.
